Finn Mcouls are now looking forward to their second season in the High Wycombe Sunday Combination Division 5. After last pre-season's early optimism and championship hopes, reality soon set in and Finns were outplayed and outclassed in many of their first few games.

It was not until the arrival of 'The Foreign Legion' for the Cup victory against FC Dun & Bradstreet of Division 1, did the season start to turn. After the cup victory Finn's looked a lot more solid at the back and began to 'find their feet' and composure.

In early November Mark Hillman joined the club as Manager, taking over the pressure from Kev & Baz, who found it very difficult to manage and play at the same time. After Mark's arrival and the subsequent move to Handy Cross for training  Finns Season really took off. They strung several good results together and were impressive in their all round attacking play.

Some of Mark's decisions confused everyone to begin with but gradually he won us all over. Kev was moved back to Sweeper and told to stay there and start the moves from the back. Brendan was brought in from Reading to get the goals, and Adam was simply brilliant at times defying his size and throwing himself in front of everything and saving it.

All in all it wasn't a bad season with a very respectable 6th position finish, (not bad considering we were the worst Sunday Team in Wycombe for 3 weeks in October / November) We looked so much more solid in defence for the 2nd half of the season and some of the passing moves were very pleasing on the eye. Again the optimism is high for the 2002/2003 season, dare we tempt fate and talk about the championship? ......... probably a bit premature!!!!
