The match started with both teams lining up singing the Spanish national anthem.  The Spanish president then went round to shake bothe teams hands.

5 mins.  Real Oviedogained possesion in midfield.  Bento dribbled freely through the midfield and then flicked it to Miloseic.  Upson tackled Milosevic but Milosevic tracked back and tackled Upson and won back possesion.  He waited for support and saw Johansson and before Aranzabal could make a challenge he squared it to Johansson.  The crowd could sense something and the noise was defening in the Oviedo end.  Johansson cockily passed De Pedro and crossed a fine ball into the Sociedad area.  Winter showed great spped running into the area and slooted the ball over the top of the Sociedad keper who was offf his line and gave Oviedo the lead and the Oviedo end errupted.

16 mins.  Oviedo won a free-kick on the edge of the Sociedad area.  Riedle stepped up to take it.  He ttok it quickly and put it over the top of Johansson's head who seemed suprised at it.  Adepouj intercepted and it looked as though it was wasted but Nadj was quick enough to steel the ball and his brave run ended with a croos into the Sociedad box Carlos rose above everyone else and steered the ball goal-bound it hit the post and th keeper struggled to keep it out of the goal but it ended up in the back of the net and gave Oviedo a 2-0 lead.

49 mins.  Gronkjaer took a long throw which was flicked on by Adeoju into the Oviedo box.  Jankauskas turned Winter and Onopko superbly and shot into the top right-hand corner which Lehmann could only help it on it's wayinto the top corner.  Sociedad were now back in the game 2-1.

60 mins.  Real Sociedad substitution:   Adepoju off for Govou.

68 mins.  De pedro ran with the ball and dodged Bento on his run.  He knocked a ball towards Aranzabal who then ran towadrs Oviedo's goal after a nice little turn.  He sent the ball wide to Gronkjaer who crossed first time and Jankauskas headed into the roof of the net and leveled the score. 2-2.
