Yesterday night saw Southend take on promotion chasers Hull City at Roots Hall.
It was a suberb contest and Southend earnt a 1-1 draw. Hull took the lead after 4 minutes through a Mike Edwards header, but the Blues battled on and finally got their reward in the 45th minute when the ball came out wide to Tes Bramble. As Bramble sent the ball into the box, the Hull keeper, Musslewhite made a howling judgement and the ball ended up in the back of the net as Musslewhite failed to save.
Bramble later admitted it was meant as a crossed and thought the keeper would easily deal woht it, but was delioghted it ended up in the back of the net, to give Southend the equaliser. The impressive youngster has scored 5 in 7 games now.
It was a very good contest, with Southend threatening and dominating the play through lengthy periods. Strong claims fer a penulty were also turned down when Hull full back holt handled in the box.
