Beni, Blake and Ward expected to start next seasonAdam Bell Friday, June 01, 2001 09:01 GMT

Jim Jefferies will give Ashley Ward, Beni Carbone and Robbie Blake a chance next season and he will only sign a new striker if he needs to. The City boss believes the trio can get the goals that City need to mount a serious promotion challenge, and he said: "Ashley Ward has a terrific record of scoring goals in the First Division while Beni will be a terrific asset next season. "Blake also got 17 goals in the First Division for Bradford so let's give them a chance. If it becomes a problem then I'll sort it out." City will also be hoping that Gareth Grant can make the breakthrough into becoming a regular in the side next season after spending much of the last two years on the fringes of the first team.
