McCall future latestAdam Bell Monday, June 04, 2001 07:57 GMT

Jim Jefferies is set to have more talks with Stuart McCall's advisors next week in a bid to keep him at Valley Parade for another season. City have disputed McCall's claim that the fresh offer put to him amounted to a 60 per cent cut on his current deal, but they are still hopeful that a compromise can be reached. Other clubs are no doubt keeping tabs on his position, but despite the reports linking Burnley with a move for him, there has been no contact from the Turf Moor club yet. A testimonial or benefit match is likely to be included as part of the new deal, and it is likely that City will play his former club Rangers in that game.
