MURDERERS SLAYED BY MIGS MAGIC!!!!!Chris Backwith Thursday, July 05, 2001 09:16 GMT

Save Chip 3 – 1 Quintiles
It is now 3 out of 3 for Save Chip as their impressive mid-season run gathers momentum. A game into which they entered with confidence, having already turned over the Quintiles Scum earlier in the season, again they produced the goods.
With JP having being dropped from the starting line up, having violated club rules, having been photographed in the Moulin Rouge, with a Lady of the night the previous evening. A statement from club spokesman Smiffy read, “If the rest of the team aren’t getting any, then neither should he, JP is out”. It was Miggs’ chance to shine, and boy did he take his opportunity.
The game started off pretty evenly, but a bizarre goal was to separate the teams. An innocuous goal bound effort from Sharland seemed to be easy pickings for the keeper, but he spooned it straight into the net. To say he was unhappy with himself was an understatement; presumably he doesn’t let those little animals escape as easily.
The game began to get a bit niggly, and Miggs’ let the opposition know his feelings by pushing one of them and then hiding behind Sharland, but how his fortune was to turn. A through ball found Miggles through on the left, and with a semi turn and a left foot strike, he bamboozled the keeper and his shot quite literally rolled in. He went wild, the crowd went wild, and so he was subbed.
The second half saw the introduction of the disgraced JP and Smiffy, Sharland also made way, with Mozza doing the full 20. Shortly after the restart, Smiffy cut inside 1 defender and drilled a sublime shot into the bottom corner for 3 – 0. A stunning move from Keeper through to Mozza, involving JP and Smiffy, resulted in a fine save from the opposition keeper. Backers, was again in fine form, and was called into action late on. Smiffy was fouled so the ref gave the slaughtermen a penalty amidst much controversy. Backers fell the wrong way and it was 3 – 1.
The game was won, and Miggs went home a happy boy. This sort of form needs to continue though if he is to gain a regular place in the team, and leave that bucket behind.
