Posh Under 15s captain Rachel Burbridge, pictured, will sit out the rest of the season after sustaining a hip injury in a friendly with Manchester United Under 16s.
Rachel sustained the injury after scoring a goal and twisted her hip on the astro-field surface (similar to grass) and tore a ligament that will require lengthy treatment before she resumes light training.
The injury is a heavy blow for the under 15s captain who has maintained an 100 per cent goalscoring record in all matches played during this season.
The under 15s, with an average age of 13 years, played three short games, against Manchester who fielded players from their senior squad and a Canadian international and were beaten 2-0, 3-0 and drew 2-2. The team’s other scorer being KJ Hilson with a 20 yard strike.
