Parris In Retirement Shock

Mark Lemm  Monday, February 11, 2002  07:45 GMT

Reading YMCA defender called a shock press conference on Friday evening at McDonalds to declare that his playing career may be over. Parris has suffered from persistent knee and groin injuries after a motorbike accident in the 90's and has played through the pain barrier in several games but it looks as though his latest injury setback may be the last straw. Parris sighed "I've got a big gap in my knee and it's not getting any better". If Parris does close the curtain on a distinguished playing career his commitment and passion will be sorely missed and everyone at YM will wish him all the best for the future and hope that he will keep in touch and continue to support the club. It is not clear at this stage whether Parris intends to embark on a management career although with the arrival of his new son, Jude, his options are severly limited. Parris left with 4 Big Macs, 20 chicken nuggets, large fries and a doughnut.
