Japan`s first ever win in a World Cup finals. Russia saw Japan dominate the game as most of Russia shots were off-target. The Russia manager complained about the ball as had TV Pundits. Russia nearly equalised when substitute Vladimir Beschastnykh rounded the Japanese goalkeeper, only to find the side-netting. The referee blew his whistle for full-time, 15 seconds early.
