Team Rejects Dewsbury League ProposalHawke 17 Friday, April 19, 2002 10:54 GMT
Chesneys Hawkes have rejected an approach from Champion Sports to join the Dewsbury Sports Centre Thursday night league.
Following uncertainty of availability of a place for Skylark's Thursday league, Champion Sport made the offer to Chesney Hawkes manager James Tracey, but after consultation with his squad, Tracey rejected the proposal.
"They came to us with an offer to join them for arginally less money than what Skylark want, but after loooking into the option we found the offer isn't anywhere near as good as Skylark, as they don't play on synthetic grass, which they have at Skylark. We will join Skylark definately, hopefully for Thursday nights, but Monday is acceptable for us."
