New training ground for CityAdam Bell Friday, June 22, 2001 12:51 GMT

City will use a new training ground when they return for pre-season - their fourth in a year - and will train at the Ben Rhydding sports club.
Jim Jefferies was unhappy with the pitches at Apperley Bridge last season because of the waterlogging following the horrendous weather in winter. He arranged for the players to move out to a private complex at Adel in North Leeds, which although the players enjoyed it was never likely to be a long-term thing.
They have at times also used some Bradford University pitches near Thornbury in Bradford.
Next season though they will be back within the Bradford Metropolitan area, training at Ben Rhydding near Ilkley, with Jefferies having identified the sports club there as very suitable.
