Team GB Named
Team GB manager, Neil Middleditch has named his seven man squad to ride for Team GB in this year's Speedway World Cup. The tournament starts in Poland on Sunday, July 1st.
The full squad is: World Champion and British Champion Mark Loram (Peterborough), Scott Nicholls (Ipswich), Chris Louis (Ipswich), Carl Stonehewer (Workington), Lee Richardson (Coventry), Paul Hurry (Wolverhampton), and Gary Havelock (Poole).
The tournament starts on July 1st in Gdansk, when Team GB will face host nation Poland, Germany, and Finland.
On July 2nd stage two is also in Gdansk which will feature Sweden, Denmark, Slovenia, and Russia.
Day three will feature USA, Australia, Czech Republic, and Hungary, which will also take place in Gdansk.
On July 5th the tournament moves to Wroclaw. It will be the same format as the final, five-team, five riders in a race event. This will feature the runners-up from rounds one, two, and three, plus the highest scoring third placed team.
The top two from that event go to the final staged at Wroclaw on Saturday, July 7th.
