PURSLOW heriocs vs Sedge costs him 3 Matches!!

Richard Hosley  Friday, July 13, 2001  11:57 GMT

Chris Purslow, after his heroical display against Lversedge in the Jack Hampshire cup, has landed a 3 match ban. The ban comes after an incident with Liversedge player Rob McFarlane (an Ex-BCC player), after Chris sent him packing for a Golden Duck. After speaking to Chris on Tuesday he is extremely disappointed with the way the whole affair has been handled.

Purslow said " It was heat of the moment stuff Whinge, I got my future Son in LAw out First ball, All I did was throw the ball in the air and cheer".

Cricket Secretary Mark Gilman did not want to comment but he thought that the incident could be interpreted, by the League Chiefs as bringing the Game into disrepute.

The feeling at Birstall is one of bemusement This morning, as the Club prepare for their biggest weekend of the season.
