General News Round-upJT Wednesday, May 09, 2001 09:00 GMT
The season is now over for both the reserves and A side and the players are taking a well earned rest.
The latest injury news is that Macy Greaves is due to have his full leg pot removed this week and replaced with a smaller pot, and hopefully this should be on between 6 to 8 weeks, in time for the holiday to Malia. His only problem will be the feeble appearance of his leg, which should be amusing for everyone else if nothing else! At least he should be fit for the new campaign.
Gary Hirst has had his pins removed, but will remain in plaster for a while longer. His recovery will be slow and he looks set to possibly miss all of next season.
On the transfer front nothing has been decided as yet, as most players are thinking of holidays rather than next season, but in the coming months expect many rumours and breaking news.
The management position for 2001/02 is also still to be completely confirmed. Graham Pickford will continue as the reserve manager, but it is undecided who will manage the A side, Chris Rowlands or Richard Tracey are likley to assume charge, or more than likely work together in a bid to turn the A side into Championship material.
As yet, no friendlies have been arranged, but pre-seadon looks set to start around the back end of July, so friendlies are to be expected in August. Confirmation of the divisions is also set to be made in the coming months, the Reserves set to play in the 1st division, and the A team are likely to continue in the 3rd division.
