PIRATES ABANDON SHIP

RICHARD PETTICAN  Monday, May 07, 2001  16:04 GMT

The Pangbourne Pirates cried man over board and prefered to jumped ship rather than take on the Bauer Bandits in what would have been their last game of the season.

In a leeked news report Big Jonny Goldsmith, mentor to the Pirates said "The dream has fast become a reality, we just don't have any equipment to keep the demons from our minds. The thrashings we have been dealt will haunt us forever and a day. I just wish I had been around to see it".

Quite what he is talking about no one know. Still the fact that the Pirates could not field a team means that the Bandits win 5-0 and have just on game left in the current season.
