Past Bargeddie Legends.Aaddie Ahmed. 1998-99, Midfield Maestro.Cup Final, Thornliewood park. Bargeddie 5 v 3 Coatdyke. Aaddie Ahmed was held off for the later stages of the game. Bargeddie were winning 4-1 with ease after just 25 mins. Coatdyke came out strong with Bargeddie slacking off thinking the game was over. Coatdyke pulled 2 goals back (4-3), with Coatdyke pilling on the pressure. The manager sent for Aaddie Ahmed to make his debut with 10 mins to go he came on picked the ball up in his own half with the pressure on and went on a mazy run taking on about 4 players with ease then superbly ran in on goal to round the keeper and slammed the ball into the back of the net. " WHAT A GOAL ". This amazing goal clinched Bargeddie the cup and made Ahmed an instant Hero............. !! |
