Rhode To Nowhere

Team Captain John Rhodes tells us like it is......

Week 6 - vs Radox

Drew 4-4
Looking back at Monday I have had time to think about what went wrong, and there was plenty to think about!!! We should have buried Radox with the form we have been in recently but that wasn't the case, they were a group of older players, and their experience told. We were defiantly guilty of going into the game thinking it was only a matter of how many we were going to score, and when we went 3-0 down it was only then that we started to create our own chances.
A combination of players not being on top form and again players not even interested, which I am personally getting a little frustrated with, was all it needed for us to drop two points. I was in shocking form and although I gave 100% I left the court very disappointed, maybe I was trying too hard or maybe it was just one of those nights but nothing seemed to be working for me, I was sh*te!! John Bruce wasn't on song either, easily the best player over the course of the campaign he struggled on Monday night to find the dazzling form he has been in. I was also shocked when he decided that he has had enough and quit the squad, he will be sorely missed, but I am sure the gaffer will have something up his sleeve for next weeks match. The most disappointing player on the night was Andy, he is turning into something of a wayward genius, the lads got it all in his locker but doesn't seem to bring it with him every week. He scored twice on Monday with ease but for the rest of the game chose to sit at the back quietly, the most annoying thing is that most of the lads would love to have his power and pace but Andy sometimes just doesn't seem like he can be bothered. I would like to see Andy back to his best for the next clash but who knows who turn up Jackal or Hyde!!!!
The gaffers performance was very much on the same path as mine, gave 100% but when things are against you just have to hold up your hands and say that it's one of those nights. Matty Shaw grabbed a couple goals to continue his scoring record and was probably our best player on the night. I personally would like to see a couple of new faces for next week, in my opinion we should seriously consider calling up Sherman and wait for it....... Nigel. Both of them are not afraid to shoot and that is exactly what we need to start doing alot more of!!!! With Brucey quitting the team that leaves a massive gap at the back, we seem to have a lot of strikers available but not so many defenders, that could cause the gaffer some problems in the next few weeks.
Anyway, till next week, John 'The Wanderer' Rhodes.
