Greig Park Rangers today won the 13's Scottish Cup. In an exciting match, at the now defunct Airdrie's Shyberry Stadium, they defeated Leith Athletic by 2 goals to 1. The goal scorers for Greig Park were Darren Rudduck and Craig Craigie.
WEMYSS take 15 goals & a red card from St Monans
Hamish Fleming  Friday, May 10, 2002  18:01 GMT

WEMYSS UNITED travelled to St Monans for their final league fixture of the season. Again the team was switched around with Grant Forgan and Alan Evans coming in for a run. Chris Martin again had another impressive display on the left, but was overshadowed by Craig Noble on the right who had a great first half and scored 4 in a game for the second time this year. Aaron Clunie managed a hatrick for the second time this year, with some "cheeky" celebrations and a teenage fan club to boot. Kris Fyfe had a good game in the middle and scored 2 goals , however Kris let himself and the team down by getting sent off,  for the second time this season, for foul and abusive language.Scott Fleming had another steady game in midfield and played rightback in the second half to allow Billy "The Cat" to push forward resulting in 2 goals. David Alexander wandered forward and got 2 from corners. Rab "moaner" Stenhouse got the other goals. At least the the goal touch is back let's hope we can keep it for sunday against Lochgelly in the Summer cup semi final. Another player worth a mention was Wayne Logie who has really made the position of sweeper his own this year.
WEMYSS find the net but only once !!!
Hamish Fleming  Thursday, May 09, 2002  08:25 GMT

Wemyss United travelled to Cowdenbeath for the penulimate league match of the season. The game started rather dull with a eerie silence over the pitch, was this because Rab didn't start the match, ?? . On 2 or 3 ocasion in the first half Wemyss made good ground into the Cowden half but the final pass was just lacking. This lead to a 0 - 0 score at halftime. 3 minutes into the 2nd half seen Cowden take the lead after some scrappy play in midfield which lead to Wemyss losing the ball. Liam and Chris looked lively up the left and continued to cause Cowden problems so when Chris finished a cross off , by putting the ball in the net there was no surprise. Kris Fyfe had several long range efforts but was unsuccessfull, on the night. However he was awarded Man of the match for his efforts

WEMYSS "mugged" in Dunfermline
Hamish Fleming  Tuesday, April 30, 2002  22:37 GMT

In a game that deserves not much written about it Wemyss, just couldn't come to terms with the kick and rush tactics of Elgin Star.

Tuesday 23rd April
WEMYSS maul Oakley and only get a DRAW !!!!
Hamish Fleming  Sunday, April 28, 2002  19:23 GMT

Wemyss travelled to oakley today, endeavouring to get back to winning ways. The pitch was like Buckhaven beach, covered in sand and very rough..!! A changed line up started today, with Wayne playing in goal and Rossi at sweeper as Ian was playing for the Wee Rovers... Questions must be asked about this boys loyalties ( Only Joking ). Craig Noble kept his place on the left with Liam moving up to left midfield allowing Grant to start at left back. Liam started where he left off against HOB and had an absolute blinder of a game. That left Kris and Towell in the middle with Aaron and Rab up front. Rab managed to score after 20 minutes, but had his MOANING head on all game, until he was subbed and Kris Fyfe seemed to watch the game go by in the middle, only applying any effort when he was in the mood. This lead to Rab and Kris coming of at halftime and Westie and Dale going on. With scores level at halftime, Wemyys really started to crawl all over oakley and done everything but score in the second half. The addition of Chris Martin 15 minutes into the 2nd half only made it more one way traffic. Unfortunately he even lost his scoring touch today and Wemyss had to walk away with only a share of the points for their efforts. Man of the match was Westie who made a big improvement when he came on for Kris.
