On a desperately heavy pitch due to all the rain we went down 7-0 to a strong and over physical Newcastle side. One or two foul challenges should have received more response from the referee especially a very late challenge on Gemma Barton in the first half.

Despite a good performance again today we went down by 4-2. At 2-2 with 5 minutes to go a very poor decision went against us when Sarah Grufferty was hit full in the face by a shot which felled her. Instead of stopping the game the referee allowed play to go on forcing us to concede a free kick in front of goal to get the game stopped. After a long stoppage the resulting free kick somehow made the back of the net - it was very disappointing but the players did well to control themselves.

Training notice

Training will continue at Park View until 29 August. From 5 September - still on a Thursday - we will be switching back to the Astroturf at the Riverside. The time will be 6.45pm for a prompt start from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. Make sure you have the right footwear, especially the new players.

Friendlies for Junior Teams

Both the under 12's and U13's squad will play friendly games against Boldon on Sunday 11th of August. Both games will be played at Boldon and both Kick Off times are set for 11 O'clock the games will last for one hour each and both games will be seven a side. Could everybody please check their availibilty and we will let you know who has been selected for the teams and give you any other information you need at training. Any problems please contact either Mark or Dennis.
