Another impressive pre-season victory!!!!

Well done to all that participated in this well earned pre-season victory over old foes Sutton Dynamo FC! Good performances again by Paul Cooke, both the Widdowsons, and Michael Tomlinson between the posts!! The game ended with a 6-2 scoreline with additional chances not being taken by either side!!

Our forthcoming friendly with Sutton Dynamos FC is another interesting pre season fixture, especially for Ex Dynamo Stewart Coleman who was their striker last season! This should make it an interesting confrontation!! Also, team news is that Dynamos may be without their goalkeeper Mark Baguley, who has work commitments, and strong centre half Craig Mathews who is recovering from an operation on his foot!!!

It has been announced that Equipe Logistics have replaced Apollo FC in Division 7 of the Mansfield Chad Sunday League. The reasons behind this arent known at this stage. I hope that Apollo FC recover from their apparant withdrawal, and be playing again soon!!

Transfer news-Lee Widdowson about to sign!!

When I heard that Lee was going to sign I didnt believe it, but after a discussion with his brother John, it seems that Lee is going to sign! This i expect will not be every week as he is currently playing in the Chesterfield league, but he has spoken about getting to as many games as possible which is a boost to our title ambitions as Lee is a quality player with bags of skill and ability!!

Our away friendly with Walkers FC will be played at the old Sutton Town ground on Lowmoor road, Kirkby! Kick-off will be 11:00am on Sunday 18th August!! Any players who do not have transport to the fixture should assemble at the last drop public house where transport will be provided!!

Pre-season Win!!

A great victory over old foes Millers FC was earned by the whole team. The game finished 6-4 with good performances by new signing John Widdowson and his brother Lee! But most notably was the performance of Paul Cook, his contribution to this victory was arguably his best in an AFC Lakeside shirt!!!!
