WELCOME TO CORBALLY - HOME OF THE SPIRIT OF FOOTBALL

Corbally is situated on the north side of the city of Limerick.It is bounded on the North and East by the River Shannon and on the West by the Abbey River.

The name ' Corbally ' or the Irish ' An Chorbhaile ' is made up of two Irish words
' Cor ' and ' Baile '. This is translated as the
'HOME OF THE HERON'

One poet depicts:
"It is set between the city and the rising hills of Clare,
A jewel where the sparkling waters play;
Where the Angler in the evening spins his reel without a care,
And the boatman grasps the oars at the close of day."

Corbally United was founded in 1979. Since then we have won all major honours in the city and task ourselves in developing friendship and civic pride through football.

In 1992 we reached the under 12 all Irealnd final and just lost out to a star studded Home Farm outfit including the likes of Richard Dunne and Stephan McPhail.

During a visit to the club in 1997 Mick McCarthy commented.
" People like me are well paid for the work we do in football . It is the amateur clubs like Corbally are the backbone of the game. I feel very much at home among them."
