Monarchs Speedway Supporters' Club Home PageThe Monarchs Speedway Supporters' Club is totally independent from the Promotion of Edinburgh Speedway.The Primary function of the MSSC is to support the Edinburgh Monarchs Riders and Edinburgh Speedway. All riders are treated equally, when presentations are made. The only criteria is that riders have to have ridden six meetings for the Monarchs before they become eligible. We support the Promotion throughout the season by running the "Half Cut Draw" at each home meeting and by taking a small sponsorship in the Scottish Open Championship. In 2001 we gave £4255 towards the running of speedway at Armadale from the HCD. The Jack Young Memorial Trophy presented at the Scottish Open and the Rider of the Year Trophy (Rosebowl), which is presented to the Top Average Monarch of the season, are the property of the MSSC. Current Holders Jack Young Memorial Trophy Peter Carr Rider of the Year Trophy Peter Carr Our Secondary Function is to provide a Social Scene for the Supporters of Edinburgh Speedway. Both functions obviously overlap. Look out for our frequently updated Diary Page, which will tell you about our Pub Hunts, Discos, Quizzes and lots of other events during the years to come. Jimmy Macdonald's monthly quiz will appear on this site a fortnight after they go on sale at Armadale as will our Crosswords and Wordsearches. Prizes if purchased but only for fun here. The MSSC has four affiliated Branches. They are Meadowbank Branch, Skittles Branch, Stockbridge Branch and Western Branch. Why not join the members at one of their Branch Meetings.
