Vientiane Buffalos Home Page Vientiane Buffalos Rugby Football Club For Indochina Cup Reports, see News to the right The Club Vientiane Buffalos is a young, friendly and growing sports association that plays rugby and touch rugby in the Lao PDR,. Founded in 1998, on the base of the popular Sunday morning Touch Rugby sessions, the club now has over thirty subscribing members. The majority of the Buffalos are professional expatriates resident in Laos for substantial periods of time. Membership is free for Lao nationals. The club's aims are to enjoy health and friendship through sport, and to promote the game of rugby among Lao people who find the game attractive. Rugby The Buffalos play Touch Rugby and Rugby Union. The club organises Touch Rugby, open to the public (women and men) every Sunday morning. Internal club touch tournaments are held at least twice a year and occasionally visiting teams come to Vientiane to play touch. Our Women's Touch team enters two to three regional touch tournaments annually. So far they have been very successful, winning two tournaments in Bangkok and bringing home the trophies to Vientiane. The men play seven, ten and fifteen a-side rugby union. We have played several tournaments in Bangkok, and others in Saigon and Phuket. |
