Yorkshire Womens Senior Squad.

Trials for the Yorkshire Womens Senior Squad were held last night at Headingley.  The selectors had the tough job of choosing 11 players and 3 reserves.

A number of Wakefield players were invited for the trials, these players were:

• Bev Nicholson
• Claire Atkinson
• Helen Wardlaw
• Clare Taylor
• Kathryn Leng

After the two hour training session, in which the players were put through batting, bowling and fielding practice the squad was announced.

I am pleased to be-able to inform you all that all the players named above have been selected for the squad.

On a lighter note!  The training session was filmed by Look North (BBC 1) and interviews conducted with some of the players and selectors.  The report should be on sometime next week, presumably early evening.
