NEW FACILITIES PLANNED FOR NEXT SEASONCome on England! Tuesday, May 21, 2002 19:03 GMT
Newark Town have been boosted by the news that they will have some new and improved facilities at their Devon Park home for next season.
The club has recieved a grant for the resurfacing of the turf on both sides of the Changing Room's bringing to an end the struggles of playing on a hard, bumpy, sandy pitch week-in, week-out which has made it difficult for all teams to play at Devon Park this season. It will also ensure that Town will possess two of the best pitches in the area which should, hopefully, attract new players and even special events to come to Devon Park in the future. Work began on the pitches a few weeks ago.
Tentative plans are also in the pipeline to knock down and rebuild the Changing Rooms at Devon Park. The Changing Rooms down at Devon Park are some of the worst around with broken lights, gaping holes in the walls and a general rickety appearence which is a cause of embarassment at times for the club. A preliminary plan has been drafted for the new facilities already. Hopefully we'll know for definite as to whats happening at some point in the near future.
