ENGLAND hammered Denmark in Niigata to march into the World Cup quarter-finals.
The result was never in doubt after Denmark keeper Thomas Sorensen fumbled Rio Ferdinand's header into his own net on five minutes.
Michael Owen finished off a wonderful flowing England move to make it 2-0 midway through the first half.
And Emile Heskey fired home the third from the edge of the penalty area a minute before half-time.
Sven Goran Eriksson's men now face Brazil or Belgium on Friday at 7.30am.
Meanwhile the brave Danish members of Athletico Bloomsday face the prospect of a warm receptionfrom the English players in the club who look forward to showing that they can be gracious in victory...Gez especially has promised not to rub it in......................!!!
