Town share spoils in local derbywebmaster Friday, April 13, 2001 20:31 GMT
Barum shared the points with local rivals Bideford with a 2-2 draw at Bideford today.
Bideford went ahead after only 4 minutes when Steve Kidd took full advantage of an unchallenged header to open thye scoring for Bideford.
Barum came back after only 8 minutes to level things with a good goal by martin davey.
4 minutes later 'Town' would have been in front but for an outstanding save from Mark Coombe.
On 27 minutes the impressive Richard Pears put Barnstaple in front.
On 65 minutes Alex Crook seemed to take a punch at a Barum player and was lucky to stay on the field. Bideford levelled things on 80 minutes, Nick Woon scoring.
This was a typical derby game wich could have gone either way, but i think Bideford will be happier with the draw in a game that Barum would most probably think they should have won.
Man of the match...Andy Stevens....Mr reliable as always.
