Home win for fanswebmaster Sunday, May 06, 2001 09:00 GMT
Barum gave the home fans the win that John Hore had demanded.
Steve Blurton opened the scoring after just 3 minutes, he was bundled over in the area by the Westbury keeper and picked himself up to score from the spot.
Blurts chipped just wide after 9 minutes and Barum looked to be in control.
An ankle injury to John Vooght after 13 minutes saw him replaced by Keith Shapland and it was Shappie who made the second goal on 30 minutes.
A good run down the left, twisting and turning his marker before crossing for Marc Penprase to score.
A great tackle by Neil Pointing on 37 minutes denied what seemed would be a certain goal for Westbury and Town made it to half time leading 2-0.
Westbury had a fairly good spell for 10 to 15 minutes of the second half and Denzil made a couple of fine saves to keep the 2 goal advantage. 60 minutes played and the game was killed off by a lovely strike from John Veal made it 3-0 to Town.
Steve Blurton was replaced by Steve Gibson after 79 minutes but the Town reserve keeper couldnt score playing in the striker role.
Hopefully another win will follow at Devizes on Monday.
