GOAL OF THE SEASON

 GOAL OF THE SEASON CONTENDERS

1) Will Shaw v New Inn (a): cut inside the left back and from outside the area curled a shot into the far corner off the bar.

2) Chris Carter v The Works (h): carried the ball forward from the full back position and let fly across the keeper into to the top corner from fully 35 yards.

3) Paul Ketterer v Wakeman(a): first timed a curling shot into the top corner from just inside the area, in off the post.

4) Nick Page v Knaresborough (h): Intercepted an opposition pass in the centre of the pitch, evaded two challenges on a 40 yard run before slotting the ball past the advancing keeper (and yes he did pay me to talk this one up!!)

5) Will Shaw v Boroughbridge Reserves (h): Cut in from the right hand side and unleashed a left foot (yes that' s LEFT foot) shot from 25 yards into the top right hand corner.

6) Jason Lupton v Boroughbridge Reserves (h):  Finished off a smart move culminating with Ben's cross from the left and Jay volleying the ball, with an outstretched leg, over the desparing dive of the keeper and into the roof of the net (mine's a pint Jay for talking that up).

7) Francis Chandler v Knaresborough (a):  The ball broke free to Franny just inside the box and he curled it over and round the keeper into the top corner for a consolation.

8) Chris Carter v Summerbridge (a):  Side-footed a lovely flighted shot over the keeper into the top corner from the right corner of the penalty area.

9) Rees Jacobs v Summerbridge (a): Collected the ball near the edge of the area and unleashed a fierce left foot drive from the corner of the box that swerved past the flat footed keeper into the bottom corner.

10) Rees Jacobs v Wakeman (h):  Ran onto a through ball and from just outside the area beautifully chipped the keeper as he came to meet him.

11) Phil Curry v Wakeman (h): First timed a curling shot from the edge of the box over the keeper and into the roof of the net, having received a pass in from the right.

12) Will Shaw v Wetherby (a): The ball got laid inside to Will 25 yards out and he curled it with power over the goalkeeper and into the roof of the net for a great goal.

13) Matt Thirsk v Wakeman (a): The first goal of the game and even against nine men Tat did well, picking the ball up from outside the area, advancing and then sending a left foot effort curling beyond the keeper into the top corner of the goal.
