wetherspoons fc Home Page

Welcome to the new and updated Wetherspoons FC website, There have been a few changes both to the team and the website in the past few months.... here is a brief rundown.

THE SQUAD
There have been a few new members to the squad for the forthcoming season, most of them to bulster up the defence/midfield area of the team. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome amongst others ... Ross, Willow, Wayne, Bulb and Ian. I’m sure that they will enjoy playing for the ‘spoons and we all look forward to seeing them strut their stuff for the team.

The ‘Old Guard’ still remains for the spoons, Geoff has still not retired, but he is doing a good job for the side.. when his back is up to it!! Naked butler is still knocking about the side... although he has not been present in the past few games... rumour has it that he has stolen a tea-towel and joined the ‘Naked Platoon’ of Osama Bin Ladens teletubby army..!!!
Have to give a shout out to Billy, who is doing a sterling job in his new position of right back, well done on the boys in blue test. Big up to Paul who is one step closer to being the Iron man...

THE WEBSITE
After a few weeks (or months even) of neglect, the Wetherspoons web is being re-vamped. There will be new sections and photos added to the site.
The player profiles have been updated to show a majority of the new players, these should be accompanied by player photo’s shortly!..
Areas such as ‘Eldridge’ and ‘Get Gordon’ will be set to go soon (although the dispute with this thief is definately not over.. if you see him beat the sh1t outta him!!) these will be replaced by some new fun and exciting sections... all will be revealed shortly!!

Wetherspoons results....

Sunday 14th October 2001: Vs The Red Lion (away)

For the first time this season everything fell into place for the team, a convincing 10-0 score line should hopefully kickstart the season, the goals for this game coming from Ross Shehy(4), Clifford Ryan(4), Matt Rackham and Karl White.

Sunday 21th October 2001: Vs Magpie Res(home)

Entertaining game for the huge crowd, shame it didn’t go our way. A terrible rainy day saw the spoons go down 3-7. At one point from being 0-4 down we came back to 3-4 only to conceed a couple of silly penaltys. The spoons goals were from Matt Rackham(2) and a real cheeky penalty from Clifford Ryan.

GUESTBOOK

Please sign the guestbook, it does not matter if you are a wetherspoons web regular or just passing through, I would like to hear what you have to say about the side. The guest book is a good way to get a message to either myself or the team.

Please do not put rude or offensive messages on the guestbook, anything that is found to be inapropriate will be removed immediately.

That’s all for now folks, but this site is constantly being updated so dont forget to come back soon....
