FORTEAN TIMES (SPEEDWAY VERSION)

Steve Harland  Tuesday, August 13, 2002  21:26 GMT

ON a trip to Whitby last week searching for a place to park the car we ended up in a road called HAVELOCK PLACE!!

For the unitiated Middlesbrough had two riders - GARY HAVELOCK and JOHN PLACE.

Walking into the adjacent road it was called BELLE VUE TERRACE!!

A friend was on holiday in Cornwall last week and staying at the same hotel as him was former Ellesmere Port promoter MERVYN PORTER. Now is that co-incidence or what?
