Remember Kevin Keay?Steve Harland Sunday, July 08, 2001 14:37 GMT
Kev rode as a junior at Middlesbrough in the early 1980s and often appeared at Felton. He rode in a few junior matches against the likes of Belle Vue Colts and Wimbledon Dons - a meeting he broke his legs after a clash with Richard Pettman.
He played rugby for Stockton before taking up speedway. After quitting the sport in 1984 he joined the police force in Hertfordshire. He now works as a motorcycle traffic cop for Cleveland Constabulary and was at Ian Ramsey Comprehensive School in Fairfield, Stockton, on Saturday afternoon giving kids a demonstration of his skills.
