The 2001 Season Story

The Story & Stats behind this years first XI . . .

A big ask, last years second XI to step into the first XI shoes? No . . .

A competent team that played badly last year and once again this year. No excuses . . . If every player had scored 20, and if every player had fielded well instead of making excuses, we could have beaten anyone.  20 Runs is not a lot to ask per player, per innings, but if we gel as a team, and learn to win, we have the ability in depth to start peforming; even Buggins is scoring runs and playing shots now in the nets. Neil Squires is adding a new degree of pace into the attack, and Tugger is proving  he is more than just a speed merchant in the field!
